France has informed Italy that the SAMP-T system for Ukraine will not be ready until June, Politico reported on April 14.

France made Italy aware about the timeline on Feb. 22, the publication writes citing classified documents.

“That’s the very end of a timeline the Italian defense ministry laid out in February, when officials said the anti-aircraft defense system would be delivered to Ukraine ‘in the spring of 2023’." the article reads.

A note from the Italian Defense Ministry after a February telephone conversation between Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and his French counterpart Sébastien Lecornu stated that the Italian-French-made SAMP-T air defense missile system would be delivered to Ukraine "in the spring of 2023."

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced on Feb. 21 the transfer of the sixth military aid package to Ukraine, which includes SAMP-T air defense systems, as well as Skyguard and Spike systems.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces said they expected the receive the SAMP-T and Patriot systems after April 2023, reported Interfax-Ukraine in early March.
