A Russian agent who was in contact with Russia’s infamous Wagner mercenary group, has been detained in Odesa during a counter-sabotage operation, Ukraine’s SBU security service reported on Dec. 13.

The enemy agent was gathering intelligence about the combat positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Odesa Oblast.

“He was primarily interested in the places of deployment and features of camouflage of the Ukrainian coastal defense units,” the SBU said.

According to the investigation, the traitor turned out to be a local resident who was recruited by the special services of the Russian Federation after the start of the full-scale invasion. Electronic maps with the targets of enemy airstrikes on the Ukrainian Black Sea coast were found on his phone.
