SBU detains Russian FSB agents in eastern Ukraine, including assistant to MP

Ukraine’s SBU security service has neutralized a Russian FSB security service agent group that was preparing missile attacks on Ukrzaliznytsia facilities, the SBU’s press service reported on Telegram on March 27.
The traitors were detained during a large-scale special operation in Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts, said the SBU.
The network included eight locals. One used his status as an assistant to a sitting member of parliament and a journalist as cover.
Russian agents collected intelligence on the locations and movements of Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the regions.
They paid particular attention to the routes the military used and the location of railway stations where the Armed Forces unloaded weapons.
The agents also reconnoitered the locations of ammunition depots, firing positions, checkpoints, and fortifications that Ukrainian troops use on the frontline in eastern Ukraine.
The network was formed by two FSB officers before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. It included a traitor who had previously been recruited by the Honorary Consul of Russia in Kharkiv.
Four members of the group were detained, while the other four are in Russia.
During the search, Russian symbols and pro-Kremlin literature were found in the possession of the agents.
The detainees were served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The suspected traitors were remanded in custody ahead of their trials.
