Ukrainian law enforcement officers neutralized a Russian espionage ring in Kyiv, which was engaged in gathering intelligence related to the positions of the Armed Forces and Territorial Defense, reported Ukraine’s SBU Security Service via social media on July 2.

In addition, the Russian agent is said to have been interested in the socio-political situation in the capital and the region, in particular, in relation to cultural and media figures.

"The activities of enemy agents were coordinated by a principal of one of Kyiv’s schools,” the SBU explained.

“In the case of the capture of the capital, the invaders promised her the position of ‘Minister of Education' in the ranks of the occupation administration. However, SBU employees exposed the intelligence group and detained its coordinator.”
