SBU security service busts group selling fake vaccination certificates
Ukraine’s SBU security service has broken up what it says is the country’s largest group producing fake COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
The group apparently included several hospital heads and six family physicians from across Ukraine. The entire operation was run by two people from Kyiv, who supervised the entry of fake vaccination records into the eHealth electronic public health system.
The fraudulent data was then used to issue international COVID vaccination certificates via Diya, the country’s official e-governance app.
The group included a number of intermediaries between the buyers of the fake certificates and complicit medical staff.

The SBU said the group’s monthly income was close to UAH 5 million, or about U.S. $185,000.
