Ukraine and Russia have conducted another prisoner-of-war exchange, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (MID) said in a Telegram post on June 28.
Fifteen Russian POWs were exchanged for 17 Ukrainians, including two officers, 14 soldiers, and a civilian.
Five of them are injured and in need of urgent medical care.
In a previous POW swap on June 18, five Ukrainian civilians were returned to Ukraine. They had been illegally detained by Russian forces.
On June 22, MID head Kyrylo Budanov announced a “significant” POW exchange with Russia would be coming in the near future. Budanov also chairs the recently established Ukrainian POW taskforce.
