Russian air strike against Ukraine’s rail infrastructure on Malyn, near Zhytomyr, has killed one rail worker and injured four people, in addition to damaging 150 houses, Malyn’s mayor Oleksandr Sytailo said in a Facebook video on May 22.
“An Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) building, around 150 homes, one apartment complex, several shops, cafes, and industrial sites – all were damaged (by the Russian missile strike),” said Sytailo.
“One person died, a rail worker; three of his colleagues and one Malyn resident were injured.”
Emergency services and paramedics are on site, along with law enforcement. The fire was extinguished by 7 p.m on May 22.
Malyn was attacked by Russian sea-launched cruise missiles, four of which have been intercepted by Ukraine’s air defense.
