Ukraine’s electricity transmission system operator Ukrenergo has canceled a plan for emergency blackouts in Kyiv Oblast that was introduced on Oct. 27, the press service of DTEK Kyiv Grids reported on Oct. 28.

All homes in Kyiv Oblast had electricity as of 12.45 a.m. on Oct. 28.

However, the company tempered the good news with a warning about the situation, and a request that consumers limit energy consumption.

“The situation in the energy system is tense,” the company said.

“We ask you to support energy workers in the struggle on the energy front. To do this, consume electricity moderately – turn on energy-consuming devices in turn, reduce electricity consumption as much as possible in the morning from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and in the evening from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. We ask business clients to limit the use of external lighting on the facades of offices, restaurants, and shopping malls.”

DTEK Kyiv Grids did not publish a new schedule of blackouts in Kyiv on Oct. 28. The company explained they temporarily classified such information due to the martial law in the country and in accordance with resolution of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NCRECP) No. 349 of March 26, 2022.

However, early on Oct. 28, the company reported that emergency blackouts continued in Kyiv due to the need to stabilize power supply systems. According to DTEK, they started at 8.25 a.m.

The company also said that the previously published blackouts schedules are no longer relevant since the enemy has launched new attacks on the country’s important infrastructure facilities. Due to this, blackouts have become longer.
