While Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov watches thousands of young Russian men die every week, his wife Svetlana is off vacationing in the French Alps resort of Courcheval, reports NV sister publication Ukrainska Pravda.

Journalists spotted Ivanova at the pricey resort on March 8, spending time with singer Valery Meladze and shopping at boutiques.

Her husband is one of the leaders of Russia’s full-scale invasion, known for visiting the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol.

UP referred to a Russian Anti-Corruption Foundation investigation that published an article containing Ivanova’s emails. The Foundation discovered that the couple spends millions of dollars, owns palaces, jewels, and “many other attributes of corruption that do not correspond to the official income of a person responsible for finances.”

For example, at the beginning of the war and during the Russian military crimes in Ukraine last year, Ivanova was in Paris to shop for boutique jewelry. Last summer, she and her husband reportedly filed for a divorce that some journalists suspect to be a sham. Deputy Defense Minister of Russia Sergey Shoigu was sanctioned by the EU, but Ivanova was not.

Also pictured with Meladze and Ivanova was well-known Moscow developer Andriy Kolochynsky.

UP reports that you can meet “tens, hundreds, and even thousands” of wealthy Russian citizens that support the Russian invasion and spend large amounts of money at the French ski resort.
