Slovakia has approved a new package of security assistance to Ukraine, largely focused on ammunition of various kinds and winter gear, Slovak Foreign Minister Rastislav Káčer said at a press briefing on Dec. 08.

Following a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Káčer stressed that Slovakia will continue to support Ukraine in its defense against the Russian invasion.

“Yesterday our government approved a new defense aid package,” said Káčer.

“It includes ammunition – including large (artillery) calibers and for jet fighter (armaments), warm clothes, and other equipment.”

The minister added that Slovakia will also continue to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Dmytro Kuleba recalled that Slovakia was the first country to donate its air defense systems to Kyiv, and thanked the government for their plans to send about 300 generators to Ukraine, as the country’s power grid is reeling from repeated Russian attacks.
