Dzhambulat Zaurayev, the son of a regional representative of the Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov, has been killed in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, his father Abubakar Zaurayev confirmed in a comment to the outlet 86.ru on Jan. 4.

Kadyrov's representative in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District said that his 34-year-old son had fought against Ukraine as a "volunteer."

Earlier, the spokesman of the Odesa regional administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, reported on Telegram that Dzhambulat Zaurayev was one of the so-called "TikTok troops" – as Kadyrov's units are known in Ukraine due to their passion for posting staged videos about the war on that social media platform.

Meanwhile, at the end of December, reports appeared on social media that another of Kadyrov's representatives, the one for Kherson and Zaporizhzhya oblasts, had been detained in the Russian-occupied city of Simferopol in Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula.

Together with him, four more members of the Chechen security forces were detained and accused of beating a man who had tried to defend a girl.
