The Spanish army will conduct military training for Ukrainian troops at a military base in Zaragoza, Spanish daily newspaper El Mundo reported on Sept. 9.
“Spain has been preparing for weeks for the arrival of Ukrainian military contingents who will undergo training at our country’s military base,” the report says.
It is noted conducting training is one of the commitments undertaken by the Spanish government to Ukraine.
It is not yet known how long the training will last and how many Ukrainian defenders will take part in it.
Earlier, Spain sent five planes with ammunition for large-caliber artillery systems, as well as 20 trucks with winter equipment, to the Ukrainian military.
Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles emphasized that “these deliveries are an example of Spain’s strong and continuous support of the Ukrainian people over a long period of time.”
