Spain to send Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine within days, minister says

The Spanish government will deliver six Leopard-2A4 main battle tanks to Ukraine in the coming days, while four more vehicles are still being refurbished, Defense Minister Margarita Robles told Spanish newspaper El Pais on April 12.
“In the next few days, six Leopard-2A4 (tanks) will depart to Ukraine,” said Robles.
She specified the delivery will be made by sea and will be complete by end of April.
Besides the tanks, Spain will transfer 20 armored personnel carriers, according to the minister.
“There are four other Leopards that are already under repair so that they can be delivered as soon as possible,” Robles concluded.
Spain has trained 40 Ukrainian tankers and 15 mechanics to operate and maintain German-made Leopard tanks at a military base in Zaragoza.
