The third First Ladies and Gentlemen Summit convened in Kyiv on Sept. 6, hosted by the renowned British actor, writer, and activist Stephen Fry.
After the event took place, Fry posted a picture on social media of himself with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, one of the event’s keynote speakers.
Fry commended Zelenskyy for his active involvement in the summit and his commitment to addressing mental health challenges arising from war.
"The man [Zelenskyy] himself spoke at the mental health summit in Kyiv today. An incredibly fruitful and inspiring event. Great credit goes to Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, for devising and creating this. Huge credit goes to Ukraine itself for understanding that there is strength, not weakness, in acknowledging and addressing the mental health challenges that war brings. Imagine their enemy having such openness and care for their people," Fry said.
The summit attracted 26 first ladies and gentlemen from diverse countries and boasted the support of global celebrities, including Sean Penn, who visited Kyiv, and Richard Gere, who participated remotely.
The event also featured U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is on a two-day visit to Ukraine.
