Russians hit Sumy Oblast 144 times over the day

Invading Russian forces attacked Sumy Oblast 144 times in the past 24 hours, regional governor Dmytro Zhyvytskyi reported on Telegram on Jan. 8.
The invaders shelled in and around the settlements of Esman, Myropillya, Nova Sloboda, Bilopillya and Khotin with mortars and artillery, he said. Residential houses, a school building, a village club house, and a farm were damaged in the attack, though no injuries or death were reported as of publication.
On Jan. 7, Russian troops shelled the Velyka Pysarivka and Shalyhyne districts in Sumy Oblast. Local authorities stated that a Russian drone had dropped explosive devices onto a garden belonging to a local resident in the Velyka Pysarivka District.
