Sweden has handed over four boats to Ukraine that can be used as pontoon crossings, the Ministry of Infrastructure reported on Facebook on March 1.
Besides, Ukraine received 14 pontoon sections that can be combined into crossings of different lengths.
The ministry clarified that the structures have already arrived in Ukraine. They are being promptly unloaded to be sent to the required location.
Pontton bridges are a quick and effective way to restore transport links between the de-occupied regions and the rest of the country.
In addition to Sweden, the Czech Republic, France, and Norway have already provided Ukraine with equipment for the construction of such bridges.
According to the ministry, 153 bridges and overpasses have been destroyed on Ukraine's state roads since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression. Traffic on 80 temporary crossings has already been restored.
