The Swedish government is preparing to announce the decision to send Archer self-propelled artillery systems to Ukraine, Swedish newspaper Expressen reported on Jan. 18.
Swedish PM Ulf Kristersson and Defense Minister Pal Jonson have called a press conference for Jan. 19, where they will speak about Stockholm’s security assistance to Ukraine.
Additionally, the government’s agenda includes plans to “instruct Sweden’s Armed Forces to prepare to transfer artillery systems to Ukraine.”
On Jan. 9, Kristersson said Kyiv could eventually receive Swedish Archer systems, noting that artillery remains Sweden’s focus in terms of military aid to Ukraine.
