Ukraine’s presidential chief-of-staff, Andriy Yermak, as well as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, spoke to both U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley in a conference call, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Telegram on Aug. 11.
He called the conversation "positive", but did not reveal the details of the discussion.
"Another conversation took place in the Yermak-Sullivan-Zaluzhnyi-Milley format,” the head of state said.
“The topic of the conversation is clear, the content is positive, but details, in my opinion, are unnecessary.”
The United States has been one of Ukraine’s most stalwart partners in Ukraine’s ongoing defense against the full-scale Russian invasion, and has provided Ukraine with some of its most effective battlefield tools, including Javelin anti-tank missiles and the HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
