The bodies of civilians in Bucha lay in the streets during the Russian occupation, UK Defence Ministry says

The bodies of the people murdered by Russian troops were left to lie in the streets of the Kyiv suburb of Bucha during its occupation by Russia, the UK Ministry of Defense stated in a tweet on April 5.

With reference to satellite imagery dated March 21, the MoD noted that at least eight bodies can be identified, lying murdered in the streets of Bucha that day.

The MoD stated that Russian forces occupied the Kyiv suburb until March 31,2022.

After the liberation of the Kyiv region by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, dozens of bodies of civilians tortured and killed by Russian invaders, and mass graves containing hundreds of bodies of Ukrainians, have been found in the vicinity of the capital, in particular in the suburbs of Bucha, and Irpin, and along the Zhytomyr highway.

According to the latest data provided by the Ukrainian government, Russian forces killed at least 340 people during their occupation of Bucha.

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, Iryna Venediktova, stated that 410 bodies of killed civilians had already been uncovered on Kyiv Oblast territory that had formerly been occupied by Russia.
