Dating app Tinder is widely used by Russian intelligence for spying and recruiting politicians and military in Germany, German newspaper Welt am Sonntag reported on April 15.
According to Welt, Russian spies are looking into the Tinder profiles of German officials and military officers in order to gain access to information related to the war in Ukraine.
The use of Tinder by Russian intelligence was revealed at a meeting in Germany with participation of other NATO member representatives.
"Employees of other intelligence agencies (for example, Russia) use social networks to establish contacts with the military of the Bundeswehr in order to try to find out information or, if necessary, recruit them," the German military counterintelligence service said.
