Two people were killed and four others were injured following the shelling of the town of Avdiyivka in Donetsk Oblast, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration Pavlo Kyrylenko said on his official Telegram channel on April 5.
He also said other settlements had been shelled, and clarified that there is at yet no exact data on the number of victims in the cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha in the south of the oblast.
“As a result of the Russian shelling on April 4, two people were killed in Avdyiivka, and four more were wounded,” Kyrylenko wrote.
“One child was injured in Avdiyivka. In addition, three people were injured in Heorhiyivka, one in Novoselivka, and one in Vozdvyzhenka”.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian occupation forces are regrouping in eastern Ukraine and trying to improve their tactical situation in several areas in the south. Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops have already liberated the entireties of Kyiv and Zhytomyr oblasts.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Russian troops want to capture Donbas and southern Ukraine. Ukrainian troops are strengthening their defenses in the Donbas.
