Russian invasion forces launched a missile strike on a five-story residential building in Mykolaiv, killing two people and injuring two, overnight on Nov. 11, the governor of Mykolaiv Oblast, Vitaliy Kim, reported on Telegram.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the attack a cynical response to Ukrainian military success.
"Mykolaiv. The terrorist state's cynical response to our successes at the front,” he wrote on Telegram messenger.
“A strike at a five-story residential building. Destroyed from the 5th to the 1st floor. Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded.”
Search and rescue operations are ongoing, Zelenskyy added.
A number of residential houses and business premises in Mykolaiv, as well as industrial and civilian infrastructure facilities, were damaged in an earlier Russian attack on Nov. 9.
As of Nov. 10, Ukrainian forces are believed to have completely liberated Mykolaiv Oblast, as well as Snihurivka and other villages on the right (western) bank of the Dnipro River.
