Russian shelling of Nikopol in southern Ukraine kills two, injures nine

Invading Russian forces shelled the residential quarter of the city of Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast using Grad multiple rocket systems on the night of July 20, regional governor Valentyn Reznichenko reported via Telegram messenger.

Two people died as a result of the attacks, and nine others were injured, including four children.

"The Russian horde does not stop terrorizing the Nikopol district,” he wrote.

“A residential quarter in Nikopol was deliberately targeted with Grads. More than 30 rockets were fired. Early reports indicate two people died, nine were injured. Six victims are in the hospital, among them four children. The youngest wounded is only three years old.”

As a result of the shelling, three residential houses were completely destroyed, and approximately ten more were damaged.

Rescuers are containing to clear the rubble and discover the extent of the destruction.

In addition, undetonated ordnance is now scattered around the city, though demining operations are ongoing.
