Two Ka-52 attack helicopters explode in Russia at airfield near Latvian border

Two Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters exploded in the Pskov region of the Russian Federation on the night of Oct. 31, according to reports on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
The incident took place at the Veretje airfield not far from the Russian-Latvian border.
“Around 10.00 p.m., servicemen heard several explosions, and then saw the scattered wreckage of two helicopters,” a message on one pro-Kremlin Telegram channel reads.
“The explosion was so powerful that the wreckage of the fuselage was scattered 200 meters around,” the message goes on.
The reasons for the incident are currently unknown.
