It is not obvious that there will be a pause in the fighting in Ukraine during the winter, UK Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons wrote on Twitter on Nov. 15.
"Winter may make fighting more difficult but I am just not sure that will mean a pause," she wrote.
She said Ukraine has made great progress, and Ukrainians know how to fight in winter, if necessary.
"They have had eight years of experience (of fighting in winter)," she said.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin aims to leave Ukraine cold and dark this winter.
