UK believes that Russia will try to pursue a strategy of attrition in Ukraine

The Kremlin has so far been unable to fulfil its original objectives in its invasion of Ukraine, and will now switch to an attrition-based strategy, the UK’s Ministry of Defence wrote in a tweet on March 19.
“This is likely to involve the indiscriminate use of firepower, resulting in in-creased civilian casualties, destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure and intensify the humanitarian crisis,” the tweet reads.
The UK Ministry of Defence added that Vladimir Putin has reinforced his control over the Russian media outlets. The Kremlin is distracting from operational problems and hiding high Russian casualty numbers in Ukraine from the Russian people.
