Prime Minister of UK Rishi Sunak may come to Ukraine “quite soon,” Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Vadym Prystaiko told UK broadcaster Sky News on Nov. 7.
“We’re not going to discuss the dates because of the security of your prime minister, but he’s coming to Ukraine quite soon,” Prystaiko said.
Earlier Britain’s Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons reported that Sunak planned to visit Ukraine.
Sunak officially took the post of UK prime minister on Oct. 25.
At 42 years old, he is the youngest ever UK prime minister, and the first one of Asian origin.
Sunak was the only candidate for the post of prime minister after his rival, leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt, announced that she was withdrawing from the race.
Former Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her resignation after 45 days on Oct. 20. Her premiership was the shortest in UK history and was marked by a series of political blunders.
