The United Kingdom is drawing up plans to send armored vehicles to Ukraine to aid the country in its fight against invading Russian forces, UK daily newspaper The Times reported on April 7.

"Options under consideration in the Ministry of Defense include sending a protected patrol vehicle, such as the Mastiff, or a vehicle like the Jackal, which can be used as a reconnaissance or long-range patrol vehicle," the report says.

The Times noted that the UK is augmenting its supplies of lethal weapons in the belief that the next three weeks will be critical in determining the final outcome of the war.

April 7 is the 43rd day of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. After being defeated by Ukrainian forces in the north, Russia is still advancing in the east of the country.

Since the first days of the war, the most difficult situations have been seen in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Mariupol. For more than a month, Russia also shelled Kyiv and the outskirts of the capital, completely destroying a number of settlements. Russian forces retreated after being defeated by Ukrainian counterattacks around Kyiv.

At the moment, the enemy is thought to be preparing to seize those territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts that were under the control of Ukraine before the war. Intelligence reports say it is massing its troops for an attack on the Donbas.
