The UK's Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss, has suggested that Ukraine’s partners should supply the country with war planes, in addition to other heavy weaponry, CNN reported on April 27.
“We cannot be complacent – the fate of Ukraine remains in the balance,” said Truss.
“And let’s be clear – if Putin succeeds there will be untold further misery across Europe and terrible consequences across the globe; we would never feel safe again.”
The minister added that in order to secure Ukraine’s victory, Western allies have to “double down” on their assistance to Kyiv.
“Heavy weapons, tanks, airplanes – digging deep into our inventories, ramping up production; we need to do all of this,” Truss said.
According to her, the global security architecture has “failed Ukraine,” andstressed the need to develop a “new approach” to securing international security and prosperity.
