Ukraine’s air defense systems increase efficiency to 80%, says defense minister

Ukraine’s air defense systems have increased their interception efficiency from 50% at the beginning of the war to 80% in December, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said in an interview with the UK’s Guardian newspaper on Dec. 15.
He gave the example of a mass missile strike on Dec. 5, when Ukraine shot down 60 out of 70 missiles fired by Russia.
According to Reznikov, Ukraine was using a combination of air defense systems gifted by its partners, Soviet-era systems, and repurposed mobile machine guns to combat the threat.
