Ukraine has called on the U.K. and Canada for help in the creation of so-called a missile shield to protect itself from Russian attacks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on Telegram on Nov. 16.
He announced the news following a phone call with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunk, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
"I briefed them on the new wave of Russian missile terror,” Zelenskyy stated.
“I called for increased assistance to Ukraine in the creation of a missile shield. I thanked the UK and Canada for their strong support to our country in countering Russian aggression!”
The ‘missile shield’ may be a reference to similarly-named technologies such as Israel’s “Iron Dome”, which can intercepts rockets in flight.
