The anti-air defense system in Kyiv is constantly expanding and improving, head of Kyiv military administration Mykola Zhyrnov told Kyiv TV channel on July 7.
“Capital's anti-air defense system is currently capable of protecting the city,” said Zhyrnov.
“With every passing day, this system is replenished and strengthened… Consequently, Russians now realize they should not be flying over Kyiv, to avoid nasty surprises. Our batteries also intercept some of Moscow’s long-range missiles.”
According to Zhyrnov, these improvements come as a result of Western security assistance and the ever-growing experience of the Ukrainian army.
Oleksandr Pavlyuk, who commands the city garrison, earlier said that the air defenses around Ukraine’s capital are rather effective.
