Russian terroristforces are trying to deceive the Ukrainian air defense system during their missile attacks, the Armed Forces Southern Command press secretary, Natalia Humeniuk, told Ukraine’s Espresso TV on April 27.

"The Russian tactic to deceive Ukrainian air defense is to calculate the logic of air defense and try to make the means of destruction (of the missile) as invisible as possible to air defense," she noted. “That is why the submarines were on duty for a long time.”

Russian troops are also using missile maneuvering, she said.

"That is, repeated changes in trajectory using the features of the landscape and the altitude of the launches as far as it is possible," she explained.

“They try to adjust to the fact that our air defense systems are not able to detect the very fact of launching and approaching missiles.”

The Russian army attacked Mykolaiv in the early hours of April 27 with four Kalibr missiles from the Black Sea.

The Southern Command noted they were sent along a complex trajectory.

Regional governor Vitalij Kim called the latest Russian missile attack "unusual".
