Over the previous day, Ukrainian air defense units shot down nine Russian air targets, according to the latest update of Ukraine’s General Staff posted on Facebook on June 5.
The Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian Ka-52 combat helicopter and two Orlan-10 reconnaissance UAVs, the General Staff said.
In addition, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force on the eastern front destroyed an enemy aircraft, probably a Su-34, as well as a Forpost reconnaissance UAV in the southern, Odesa area.
In addition, four of the enemy’s Kalibr cruise missiles were downed by the navy's air defenses.
"Fighter aircraft of the Air Force continue to patrol the airspace of Ukraine, and ground-attack aircraft are successfully providing fire support to units of our troops on the eastern axis and in other designated operational areas," the Ukrainian General Staff’s statement reads.
