The Ukrainian military shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in Kherson Oblast on Oct. 18, Air Force Command spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said on Ukrainian national TV.
“Some positive news. Just 15 minutes ago, a Russian Su-25 was downed in Kherson Oblast. One enemy plane less," he said.
The Ukrainian military’s Southern Air Command specified that the Russian plane was shot down in the Beryslav district.
There is currently no information about the fate of the pilot.
Ihnat also noted that seven Iranian-made Russian kamikaze drones and three Kalibr cruise missiles were destroyed overnight on Oct. 18.
Meanwhile, the Russian Federation continues its attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine both from the air and from the sea, he added.
