Ukrainian forces have “effectively” established control over Svatove – Kreminna road in Luhansk Oblast – a key supply route for Russian troops in the region – regional governor Serhiy Hayday said in a Telegram post on Oct. 28.

Hayday did not specify which settlements Ukraine taken to reach the highway, urging people to wait for official confirmation from the General Staff.

“For the time being, we will not name the settlements specifically,” he said.

“It’s better to let the General Staff do it, but we can say that the Svatove – Kreminna highway is practically under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

Hayday added that bad weather slows down the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but evidently does not halt it completely.

“Despite the bad weather and days of heavy downpours, we still managed to advance – a little bit, but nonetheless.” he said.

He said hopes next week the Ukrainian military will allow to share some footage from recently liberated areas of Luhansk Oblast.
