The Ukrainian military is already successfully using the UK-made Storm Shadow missiles, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on May 24.
During a joint briefing with his British colleague, Ben Wallace, who is on a visit to Kyiv, Reznikov reiterated that the United Kingdom had already transferred NLAW anti-tank weapons to Ukraine, helped Ukraine get 155 mm artillery and multiple launch rocket systems, including M270.
The United Kingdom has also created a special fund to support Ukraine and purchase weapons in various countries, said Reznikov.
Together with partners, the fund will help arm the Ukrainian fleet with Harpoon missiles, deliver armored vehicles, train Ukrainian servicemen abroad, and deliver “goodies like Storm Shadow,” he said.
“We had the opportunity to shake hands with pilots who were trained in the United Kingdom and are already successfully using the Storm Shadow weapon,” the minister said.
U.S. television channel CNN reported on May 11 that the United Kingdom had already supplied Kyiv with several Storm Shadow missiles capable of striking targets from distances of over 250km.
UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace officially confirmed this information, emphasizing that the missiles would be used only on the country’s sovereign territory.
