Invading Russian forces continue to conduct active actions on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka axes in Donetsk Oblast, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook on Aug 24.
The military recorded artillery shelling along the border regions of the Donetsk-Luhansk administrative border, towards the town of Kramatorsk. Russian forces also carried out unmanned aerial reconnaissance near the town of Slovyansk.
On the Bakhmut axis, Russian invaders shelled Bakhmut, Soledar, Zaitseve and Bilohorivka, and then attempted an offensive towards the town, but were beaten back.
Meanwhile, on the Avdiivka axis, the invaders shelled contested settlements on the outskirts of the occupied city of Donetsk, launching an airstrike near the village of Nevelske, 25 km northwest of Donetsk.
The village of Pisky is still a flashpoint in the Battle for Donbas, and has not yet fallen to the Russians, despite a fresh offensive towards it and Nevelske.
The settlements of Kostyantynivka and Vuhledar, along the contact line south of Donetsk, were also shelled.
On the Zaporizhzhia axis, Russian troops sed artillery shelling against settlements in the area directly south of the Ukrainian-held city of Zaporizhzhia.
Russian aviation bombed both the village of Olhivka, west of the city of Kherson, as well as Novopol, near the Donetsk-Zaporizhzhia administrative border.
