Russian forces launched 76 missiles against Ukraine on Dec. 16, of which 60 were downed by Ukrainian artillery and air-defense forces, the head of Ukraine's armed forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, reported on Telegram.

According to preliminary data, the enemy launched:

  • 72 Kh-101, Kalibr and Kh-22 cruise missiles,
  • 4 Kh-59/Kh-32P TV-guided cruise missile.

Zaluzhnyi added that "missile terror and enemy's arrogant at-tempts to break through the Kyiv's air defense" will not incline Ukrainian troops to surrender.

Crucial infrastructure facilities were damaged in the east and south of Ukraine as a result of the Russian mass missile strike, and a number of civilians have been killed or injured.
