Ukraine and Italy plan to expand their partnership and jointly produce components for air defense systems, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote on Facebook on April 26.

“We’re expanding the horizons of cooperation between Ukraine and Italy in the military-industrial complex,” he said.

“We’re considering the possibility of joint production of components of these systems. We’re working on having more such operational air defense systems. They will create a reliable shield around our strategic infrastructure facilities.”

Shmyhal paid an official visit to Rome on April 26 to attend a bilateral conference on Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction and to meet with his Italian colleague, Giorgia Meloni,  and Italian President, Sergio Mattarella.
