Ukrainian troops on Oct. 4 raised the national flag over several settlements, after conducting a number of successful counter-offensive operations in Kherson Oblast.
In particular, Ukrainian service members raised the Ukrainian flag over the village of Davydiv Brid, local deputy Roman Lozynskyi wrote on Facebook, posting a video from the liberated village.
“Davydiv Brid has been won back! Our flag has just been raised here! One of the key ones on the bridgehead beyond the Inhulets River to Kherson,” he said.
According to Lozynskyi, the village was liberated by the 35th Separate Marine Brigade. However, this has yet to be officially confirmed by Ukraine’s military leadership.
The village is located on the bank of the Inhulets River and on the border with Mykolayiv Oblast.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian defenders also liberated the town of Velyka Oleksandrivka and entered the village of Starosillia.
Kherson Regional Council member Ihor Yosypenko on Oct. 4 posted on Facebook a photo of the Ukrainian flag on the building of a hospital in Velyka Oleksandrivka.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine have just liberated the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka!” he said.
“I congratulate the residents of Kherson Oblast with great news! Every-thing will be Ukraine! Don’t forget at what cost we return our villages. Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!”
The ruling Servant of the People Party reported on Telegram messenger that Ukrainian forces, including a Servant of the People party member on the Kryvyi Rih City Council, Maksym Trach, were liberating the village of Starosillia in the Velyka Oleksandrivka district.
“Kherson Oblast, Starosillia. Yesterday they entered Arkhanhelske, today Starosillia. Little by little, step by step, Kherson Oblast is being liberated from the invaders,” the defender said.
Ukraine’s General Staff has also not officially confirmed this information.
However, presidential chief-of-staff Andriy Yermak has hinted at the liberation of several settlements in Kherson Oblast.
