Ukraine has made numerous peace proposals to Russia, but the Kremlin remains committed to its terror and war crimes approach, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video address on Aug. 14.
“Ukraine has always striven for peace, and made proposals to Russian leadership to end the war and the occupation of Ukrainian lands, on numerous occasions, during various negotiations,” said Zelenskyy.
The president added that the evidence base of Russian war crimes in Ukraine is ever-growing.
“I’m grateful to our intelligence operatives, law enforcement, journalists, and everyone else who works on documenting the crimes of Russian murderers,” he said.
“Ukraine and its international partners are getting more and more information about the perpetrators of looting, terror, torture, of the so-called filtration and deportation of our people. They will all be held accountable.”
According to Zelenskyy, the Kremlin still thinks it can achieve its goals through terror, blackmail, and coercion, and remains fooled by its own propaganda.
