Ukraine needs at least 500 British-made Storm Shadow missiles to exhaust Russia, Azeri military expert Agil Rustamzade said in an interview to NV on May 23.

“The amount of 500 pieces ... this will definitely be a tool that will help Ukraine intensively start the military exhaustion process,” he said.

Storm Shadow missiles can be launched from MIG-29 and Su-27 fighter jets, as well as from ground platforms, he explained.

“That means you won’t have any problems with the platforms.”

U.S. television channel CNN reported on May 11 that the United Kingdom had already supplied Kyiv with several Storm Shadow missiles capable of striking targets from distances of over 250km.

UK Defense Minister Ben Wallace officially confirmed this information.

Wallace said on May 18 that long-range Storm Shadow missiles provided by the United Kingdom have already been used in Ukraine.

The UK has yet to announce how many Storm Shadow missiles they have supplied to Ukraine.
