Ukraine wasn’t involved in the car bombing of the daughter of the ideologue of "Russian world" Alexander Dugin, Daria, said the advisor to the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podolyak, on national TV on Aug 21.

Daria Dugina, aged 30, died late on Aug. 20 when an explosive detonated underneath it as drove on a road near Moscow. The wrecked car burst into flames.

“Ukraine, of course, has nothing to do with yesterday’s bombing because we are not a criminal state, unlike Russia.” said Podolyak.

Podolyak noted that in Russia there are constant attempts at escalation in order to get an explicit excuse for a general mobilization for the war against Ukraine, instead of the current covert one.

“They will use this to increase ideological and informational pressure on Russian society,” he said. “They want it to become even more ultra-radical.”

Podolyak said that various political groups in Russia, including ultra-radical ones, to which Dugin is linked, are starting a fight to claim positions in power.

Early in the morning of Aug 21, Russian media reported that a car exploded in the Moscow region, with the daughter of the ideologist of the "Russian world", Daria Dugina, inside. The incident took place late in the evening of Aug. 20 on the Mozhaisk Highway near the village of Bolshie Vyazyomy.

According to some reports, Dugin himself was supposed to be in this car.

Alexander Dugin is a political philosopher, a promoter of the ideas of the "Russian world" and "Eurasianism," and also supports Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.

He has promoted fascist views, and has called for all Russian-speaking people to be united in one country by dismembering former Soviet republics with Russian-speaking populations.

His daughter Daria was politically active and espoused similar fascist views on Russian television.
