Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation plans to buy several thousand more Starlink satellite communication terminals, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine news agency on Nov. 29.

“Now we’re talking about the possibility of buying another large batch of thousands of Starlinks for Ukraine,” he said.

“I get feedback very quickly. I see they (the SpaceX company) want to help us and are helping.”

Fedorov noted that more than 22,000 Starlink terminals had been brought to Ukraine with the help of his team.

“We have direct communication with the SpaceX company and direct communication with Elon Musk,” the minister said.

“Despite the public discussions on financing, Musk has assured both publicly and in our communication that Starlink will work in any situation regardless of financial issues arising.”

The official added that the challenges of Starlink in occupied territories or on the battlefield have been dealt with.

Earlier, Fedorov announced that more than 200 Starlink terminals had been sent to the liberated city of Kherson. In addition, the Ministry plans to set up additional 60 Wi-Fi public points in the city.
