Ukraine recovered the bodies of 25 fallen Ukrainian soldiers on Oct. 25, the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories has announced on the government website.
The recovery of the soldiers’ remains possible thanks to co-operation of Oleh Kotenko, Commissioner on Persons Gone Missing under Special Circumstances and various power structures of Ukraine.
The process of returning the bodies took place in accordance with the norms of the Geneva Convention, the ministry said.
On Aug. 16, Ukraine recovered 19 more bodies of fallen defenders.
On Aug. 12, Oleh Kotenko reported 522 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers from the list of missing persons had been recovered by Ukraine.
