Ukraine recovered the bodies of 49 deceased Ukrainian soldiers on Dec. 6, the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories said on the Telegram messenger.
It said Ukraine has already recovered 827 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers since the Office of the Commissioner on Persons Gone Missing under Special Circumstances started its work.
“Currently, together with the law enforcement agencies, we’re doing everything possible to return the bodies of the defenders,” said Oleh Kotenko, Commissioner on Persons Gone Missing under Special Circumstances.
“The work is constantly underway to find out the locations where the deceased fighters are likely to be.”
Ukraine recovered the bodies of 33 deceased Ukrainian soldiers on Nov. 22.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is attempting to continue the repatriation of slain Ukrainian defenders as part of an exchange with Russia.
