Ukraine has brought back 2,235 people from Russian captivity since the full-scale invasion began, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar wrote on Telegram on April 16.
Ukraine returned home another 130 defenders within an Easter prisoner exchange with Russia on April 16.
According to the coordination headquarters overseeing prisoners of war, 92 Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen, 20 territorial defense fighters, 11 National Guard soldiers, three border guards, and two representatives each from the Naval Forces and the State Special Transport Service returned home on Easter.
"The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War in cooperation with the Presidential Office has returned 2,235 people to Ukraine since the full-scale invasion began," Malyar wrote.
The exchange and treatment of prisoners of war is further proof of Ukraine's commitment to humanity even in the face of such a devastating war, she said.
