Strengthening Ukraine's air defense is high on the agenda of a meeting hosted by Brussels in the Ramstein format, where Western allies have gathered to discuss military assistance for Ukraine in its fight against Russia, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov wrote on Twitter.

"Our work begins within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group Ramstein 6 and the NATO Defense Ministerial. Item #1 on today’s agenda is strengthening Ukraine's air defence," he said.

Also important bilateral meetings will take place, added Reznikov.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on G7 leaders to give Ukraine sufficient air defense capabilities to defend itself against Russian aggression. Ukraine has repeatedly requested an “air shield” to stop Russia.
