Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24. June 10 is the 107th day of full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine. Initially, Russia’s invasion forces tried to advance from the north, east and south, shelling peaceful cities throughout Ukraine using artillery and air strikes.

The Kremlin changed the goals of the war in Ukraine several times over the past three months. After Russian forces were defeated in fighting in Kyiv Oblast, and failed to seize the capital Kyiv, they retreated from Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts.

After that the Russian invasion forces concentrated on fighting for the control of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, as some of those territories were under the control of Ukraine before the full-scale invasion.

Russian invaders control only one regional center – the city of Kherson in the south of Ukraine

Parts of the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Kharkiv oblasts have also been captured by the Russians.

In some areas, Ukrainian troops have launched counteroffensives, with Russian troops suffering high numbers of casualties.
